Forrest Paint Company played a key role in making ShelterCare’s new Center for Programs and Services feel like home.
Forrest Paint is an ecologically responsible coatings manufacturing company. They have a full line of architectural and industrial coatings for both interior and exterior applications. Its locally owned retail store and contractor outlet has served Lane County since 1973.
Additionally, the business is a leader in high-performance coatings for use on wood, metal, plastics and other substrates. They currently serve customers on five continents through 12 warehouses worldwide.
The company generously donated paint for the center’s mural project, which was undertaken and recently completed by Eugene muralist Valentina Gonzalez. The mural welcomes visitors to the center (at 499 W. 4th Avenue, Eugene) as they pass a security wall surrounding the building where Washington Street and the railroad tracks meet.
“Forrest Paint takes a lot of pride in our community involvement,” said Mark Davis, manager of the Forrest Paint Retail Store. “As a truly local company, we feel it is extremely important to support non-profit and volunteer organizations that are here to help make the community a much better place.”
The contribution allowed ShelterCare save big on supplies for the project, beautify the property and convey a message of transformation and hope.
“Sheltercare offers services that are invaluable to our community,” Davis said. “Their commitment to providing the homeless and/or near-homeless with the resources and support they need is inspiring. We are honored to partner with such a positive program and are glad to do whatever we can to help.”
