ShelterCare Needs Volunteers!
ShelterCare needs volunteers to help out with exciting fundraising events several times during the year.
In addition, we occasionally need volunteers to
- Help residents learn life skills— cooking, balancing a checkbook, or riding the bus
- Share your expertise in art, music, exercise, etc.
- Be a mentor, Bring a group to help with landscaping, painting, or a special event
Companion/Life Skills Instructor
You can help residents who have been disabled by a brain injury or mental illness to learn life skills that are vital in their ability to live independently. Help a resident to go shopping, learn to ride a bus, or cook a meal. Just visiting with them can make a significant difference in their recovery.
Activity Group Instructor
Help our residents with a mental illness or brain injury to gain new life skills while having a great time being social. Teach a group in arts & crafts, cooking, yoga, music -- or whatever it is that you love to do!
